On Saturday, September 29, the Friday Harbor Tigers Junior Football Team,
sponsored by the Friday Harbor Athletic Association (FHAA), ended the
Anacortes Seahawks' winning streak by beating the previously undefeated
team on their home turf, with a final score of 27 to 12. Another 'w' in
the win column brought the Tigers Junior Football team record to 4-0.
Carson Brown earned the Offensive Lineman of the Week with his
'be-the-wall' blocking contribution. Micah Powell earned the Offensive
MVP award for scoring three of the teams touchdowns for the game. Many
Anacortes Fans were overheard asking - "Who is that number 34??!!"
On defense, the Tigers kept Anacortes scoreless for the first 3 quarters.
The Defensive Play of Game came when Dylan Radden pulled the ball out of
the Anacortes Seahawks running backs' hands and ran for a defensive
touchdown. This week's Defensive MVP award is shared by CJ Woods and
Donald Galt who led the team with seven tackles each. CJ Woods bagged a
Seahawk quarterback in a great sack and Donald Galt had one interception.
”CJ was on fire!" said Friday Harbor Tigers Junior Football Head Coach,
Donny Galt. "He has improved a lot over the past few weeks.”
"The Friday Harbor Tigers sure showed up to play football today," said an
anonymous Anacortes Seahawk fan as the team left the field.
